NIOS Admission Stream– 2: Failure in any examination leads to frustration in the mind of every student. Certainly, in the class 10th and class 12th board exams, if any student fails, it is very difficult to get admission in any prestigious college or university. National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) provides this opportunity for the failed students of the board exam.  As a result, they can pass the board exam of class 10th or class 12th without wasting a year. Through NIOS board, you have an opportunity to re-appear only in those subjects in which you failed in the previous exam. About NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) Board

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is completely based on “Open Schooling” system. In NIOS, students need not go to school to attend the classes. They can study in their own place with their comfort. The National Institute of Open Schooling board is constituted under the ministry of HRD (Human Resource Development), Government of India. It is specially constituted for the failed students of other recognized boards such as CBSE or ICSE. NIOS provides the easiness to students so that they can reappear in board exams and pass it with good marks. Those students who have failed in class 9th or class 11th school exams also can get direct admission in class 10th or class 12th from NIOS board. The NIOS board is equivalent to CBSE board or any other recognized board of education in India. Therefore, the passing certificate provided by NIOS board is equivalent to any other board.

NIOS Admission Stream– 2

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) conducts public examinations two times every year in the month of March/April and October/November. It provides Secondary (Class 10th) and Senior Secondary (Class 12th) level certificates to the students. This gives one more chance to many unsuccessful students of all boards to move ahead by taking a second attempt.  One of the main advantages of applying for class 10 or class 12 through NIOS board rather than repeating in the same board exam which you failed earlier is that; NIOS saves you a precious year in your education and you can score good percentage in your board exam.

NIOS admission stream- 2 is meant for all those students who appeared in the class 10th and class 12th board exam from CBSE, ICSE or any other recognized state board. But unfortunately, they fail in some subjects or all the subjects in their board exam. Those students now need not worry anymore. Through the NIOS admission stream- 2, you can join the same class in the same subjects. Also, you can change the subjects in which you failed in previous board exam. Furthermore, you can take the easy subjects and courses instead of difficult subjects and courses offered by the NIOS.

NIOS Stream- 2 Examination

This NIOS stream- 2 for online admission is open for all those students who had appeared in class 10th or class 12th board exam but could not clear the exam. Those students who were eligible but could not appear the public examination of Secondary or Senior Secondary from any Board. The applicants who take NIOS admission stream- 2 will be eligible to appear in the Secondary or Senior Secondary Public Examinations of NIOS board. Students can appear in the examination on the basis of the original failed mark sheet of the respective boards. All the applicants registered under stream- 2 will be eligible for Transfer of Credit as per the guidelines and conditions.

Transfer of Credit (TOC) Advantage for Stream- 2 Students

Transfer of Credit (TOC) facility is the best part of the NIOS Stream- 2 admissions. If you are passed in at least two subjects from your previous board exam, so through the Transfer of Credit scheme, the marks of these passed subjects are transferred into the NIOS board exam result.  Therefore, you have to appear only in failed subjects. The marks of the subjects in which you were passed in previous board exam are updated and get transferred to the new mark sheet of NIOS board. Therefore, you have not to appear again in those pass subjects from previous board exam. In TOC scheme, you need to appear in NIOS exam only for those subjects in whom you fail earlier or for the new subjects that you opt. The transfer of subjects is restrict to the maximum of two subjects.

• Original class 10th or class 12th failed mark sheet is required if you passed in one or two subjects
• Original admit card of class 10th or class 12th previous board exam if failed in all subjects
• 4 colored passport size photographs
• Aadhar card of the student, Guardian/Parents
• Photocopy of Address Proof
