One of the main advantages of applying for class 10 or class 12 through NIOS board rather than repeating in the same board exam in which you fail earlier is that NIOS saves you a year in your education and you can score good percentage in your exam.
How NIOS is Beneficial for Students Who Failed in Board Exams:
- The NIOS Board operates on the principle of open schooling concept. It provides students and learners with an opportunity to pursue the education without having to attend a full-time school.
- Students who passed through NIOS can appear in various competitive exams like IIT, PMT, AIEEE, etc. They can also apply for various government jobs entrance exams.
- NIOS also provides On-Demand Examination (ODE) scheme. In this scheme, you can appear in only that paper in which you have failed in the board exams. The marks of the other pass subjects in board exams will be transfer to the NIOS certificate.
- Along with the ODE, NIOS conducts the Public Exam twice in a year, one in April/May and second in October/November.
- NIOS also allows you to apply again in that subject which you have already passed in your board exams. You can apply for the improvement of your marks but only once within the five years of admission.
So, NIOS is very useful & highly advisable for those students who failed in board exams of secondary or senior secondary education. They can pass class 10 and 12 in the same academic year.
