About Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
Bachelor of Education is popularly known as B.Ed. It is a two-year full-time degree course. B.Ed is essential for candidates who have interest in pursuing a career in teaching and other fields. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Eligibility Criteria
- For taking admission in B.Ed. course the minimum required qualification is Bachelors degree in any relevant field like B.A., B.Sc, B.Tech or B.Com from any recognized institute or university with at least 50% marks.
- A minimum of 55% aggregate score is require for B.Ed admission at post-graduate level.
- Students required appearing in an entrance exam conducted by the various states and independent educational institutes and universities for admission in B.Ed course according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.
- These entrance exams are generally held in the month of June-July. It consists of objective type questions about English, General Knowledge, Aptitude and one local language in some states.
- The results of B.Ed entrance exams are generally out by the month of July-Aug. After declaring the result, candidates go through practical training courses, apart from theory classes.
B.Ed. Admission and Selection
Candidate can take admission in the B.Ed program through written entrance exams of 400 marks conducted by various States and Universities. The merit list will be prepare on the basis of scores obtain by the candidate in the Entrance Exam. The B.Ed Entrance Exam is of 2 hours duration. The B.Ed Entrance Exam question paper consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each question is of 4 marks. There is also a criterion of negative marking. In this criterion, for each wrong answer, 1 mark would be deducted.
There is a common entrance exam for all the candidates. The entrance exam includes multiple questions which are based on understanding and application of concepts of various subjects. These subjects are Science, Social Science and Mathematics at the school level, language comprehension in both English and Hindi, reasoning, teaching aptitude and general awareness of social, political and economic issues. Generally, the B.Ed Entrance Exam is conducted in the month of May-June and forms for the entrance exam are available online at the websites of respective institutes. B.Ed Admission of candidates is subject to Cut Off which is release by the respective university subsequent to the B.Ed. entrance exam.

Candidates are select for the B.Ed course on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. The selection process for B.Ed course is usually conducted in the month of September every year.
